About 1 in 1000 babies are found with hearing loss in both ears.
There are various causes such as infection and otitis media. There was a case of a child who had an otitis media when he would not speak even after he turned 3 years old. A screening test will tell you if you don't turn around to hear voices or if baby speech is delayed.
